Woolcool

Sustainable Insulation for Food Delivery

General:  'Woolcool liners are produced using 100% pure wool. They have a proven track record within the food industry as the trusted performance insulated packaging solution that delivers perishable goods in perfect condition.'

Recycle/Re-use:  'The wool insulation is totally compostable and biodegradable, releasing valuable nitrates back into the soil.  The MDPE film used to enclose the fleece and the LDPE envelopes used for Woolcool pouches are recyclable at local authority waste depots.  The cardboard delivery boxes are produced using recycled material and are recyclable at local authority waste depots.

In most cases Woolcool products are suitable to be re-used several times.  At the end of its useful life as packaging, the insulation liners or felted wool can be re-used for a variety of purposes.'

Performance:  'Woolcool has been independently proven to keep food contents below the all important 5°c for at least 24 hours and longer.'

Wool:  'Wool is one of nature’s most amazing ‘smart fibres’, with a complex structure and natural properties that cope with extremes of cold and heat.  Wool fibres are hygroscopic, which means they absorb and release moisture, a natural thermostat that maintains stable temperatures.  We’ve cleverly harnessed the smart fibre properties for Woolcool by felting and sealing pure wool in breathable film to create simply ingenious insulation for our food delivery boxes and pouches.'
